| SYMPOSIUM DESCRIPTION & PURPOSE |
| The Advances in Long-Term Management of Adult Patients Undergoing
Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation congress is intended to provide
cutting-edge information on the challenging issues facing health care providers
who work with adult patients undergoing stem cell transplantation, with the goal of
increasing awareness of long-term management issues related to such patients as
well as the health problems directly related to transplantation. |

| TARGET AUDIENCE |
| This educational program is directed toward hematologists and oncologists as
well as those in other medical disciplines involved in the care and management of
patients who undergo hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Nurses, physician
assistants, and other specialists to whom these patients are referred, including
pulmonary, cardiology, endocrinology, gastrointestinal, renal, oral surgery,
rheumatology, and dermatology specialists, are also invited to attend. |

| LEARNING OBJECTIVES |
At the conclusion of this meeting, you should be able to:
- Effectively manage the major long-term health issues of adult patients
undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
- Recognize infectious, pulmonary, endocrine, and gastrointestinal
complications as well as the risk of secondary cancers seen in adult
patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
- Identify treatment options for graft-versus-host disease
- Identify treatment options for relapsed disease after transplantation
- Explain the major issues that impact the quality of life of patients
undergoing transplantation
